Winter Wonderdrink

Alright dudes and dudettes, do you love snow days as much as I do? I love sitting inside by a nice roaring fire looking at the blanket of pure white snow covering the yard; especially when there’s booze involved. So, last month I was sent a couple of bottles of creme liqueurs from a new company called Bom Bom.

In the red corner, we have Bom Bom’s Coca Mochanut rum. Packed with coffee and chocolate flavors with a coconut cream base. It’s gluten free, dairy free, and nut free. In the blue corner, we have Bom Bom’s Nilli Vanilli, Dairy-Free, Gluten-Free, vegan rum, with an almond milk base. Both fighters weigh in at under 100 calories, are all natural, and contain no refined sugars, artificial flavors, or preservatives.

Girl You know It’s…Girl You Know It’s…Girl You Know It’s True!

Oooooh ooooh ooooh yeah!

Try getting that out of your head ;). So, I decided to play around with the Bom Bom boozes one snowy day, much like today (seriously is that just slush falling from the sky? WTF?), and took some shots. Yes I was alone and it was the afternoon…don’t judge.  First was the Coco Mochanut. Let’s be clear, I hate coconut. That’s why I was so freaking surprised when I tried it and loved it. They say it tastes like an unnamed coconut chocolate candy bar (ahem Mounds), but to me it just tastes like the perfect addition to a cup of coffee :).

Next was the Nilli Vanilli. It’s supposed to taste like a boozy liquid version of a vanilla wafer cookie and you know what? It does. I literally could have kept doing shots, but I figured since it was a weekday afternoon I should take it a bit slow. Well, sitting by the fire I naturally craved a hot chocolate but instead of a plain Jane boozy hot chocolate, I made a boozy vanilla hot chocolate that’s both gluten free and dairy free and tastes like a black and white milkshake. So, how did I get from A to B? Let’s find out.

Boozy Black and White Hot Chocolate?!

OK, so the recipe is easy. Start by measuring half a cup of plain almond milk and pouring it into a saucepan. Add a half cup of Bom Bom’s Nilli Vanilli and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Add cocoa powder, sugar, and a big pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Now pour it into your favorite mug and enjoy in front of the fireplace. That’s it. That’s everything you need to get your uber cozy drink on the next time it snows.
