This smoked cocktail is a twist on the classic negroni made with smoked simple syrup and mezcal. The perfect smoky cocktail for cocktail parties.
Move you oven rack to the top (about 3-4 inches from the flame) and preheat the broiler.
Pat orange slices dry with a paper towel and place them on a 9x13 baking pan. Put them in the broiler and cook for 10 minutes on each side. Allow to cool.
Add ice to a rocks glass. Add Campari, mezcal, sweet vermouth, and smoked simple syrup. Stir well and garnish with a charred orange wheel.
