Squanchy!!!

Hey guys and gals! Are you ready for the squanchiest cocktail ever squanched?

What is Squanch?

Did you ever squanch Rick and Morty, Adult Swim’s cartoon about a dopey kid and his mad scientist, alcoholic, grand father who go on bizarre interdimensional adventures together? It’s a hilarious, sci-fi, dark comedy that you really need to check out. One of the characters is a raunchy, scraggly, cat-like, alien creature from the planet Squanch named squanchy. Squanchy replaces various words with a variation of “squanch”, which is similar to the way Smurfs replace various words with “smurf”.

Squanchy culture is more contextual more than literal. You just say what’s in your squanch and people understand. – Rick Sanchez

Squanchy

Let’s Squanch Rick and Morty!

How about you keep that one in your squanch and just make some squanchtails.

So, for months, since seeing the genius that is Rick and Morty, I’ve had the phrase “Cinnamon Toast Squanch” in my head. Β I had no idea what it would be until I thought of cereal milk.

What The Squanch Is Cereal Milk?

Now you’re getting the hang of it! Β Cereal Milk was invented by Chef Cristina TosiΒ of the Momofuku Milk Bar. Β Basically, you know how when you’re eating a bowl of cereal and the milk at the end is exceptionally delicious? Β That’s because the milk has absorbed all the flavors and sugar much like tea leaves in hot water. Β Chef Tosi’s recipe calls for toasted corn flakes but you can use other cereals as long as they aren’t too heavily dyed.Β  For example, If you made cereal milk out of Trix or Fruity Pebbles the result would be muddy brown, like the weird paint mixes you’d make when you were 4.

To make cereal milk, simply take cereal and add it to milk at a 40/60 ratio and let it steep in the fridge for 2 hours. Voila! Cereal Milk!

Cinnamon Toast Squanch is a milkshake using cereal milk and since Squanchy is a whole lot raunchy, I decided to add booze and make it a cocktail.Β  So, let’s just add a some squanchingΒ Bailey’s in there!

When you’re ready to make your Cinnamon Toast Squanch just add the cereal milk, bailey’s, and vanilla ice cream to a blender. Β Blend on liquify for about 30 seconds and serve in soda fountain glasses. Β Top with whipped cream and garnish with pieces of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
