Rice is Nice
So, back in college I used to live in NYC, Gramercy specifically. A few blocks up from my dorm on 23rd and Lex was a small restaurant that featured a menu of rice bowls and other Asian inspired dishes. Their name, well it was Rice. Rice was great, but It’s been gone for years. I remember them selling cranberry Rice Krispie treats and they were effin delicious. After gorging on Thai beef salad with green rice I’d dig into my empty student pockets and splurge on the Krispie treats. I’d be too damn full but I’d stuff em in face anyway.
I wanted to try and recreate the recipe and I think I finally got it! The trick was lemon extract! It makes the perfect flavor enhancer and give it that “betcha can’t eat just one” quality.
